Experience History Aboard the Amistad

BHTNH is thrilled to invite the public to a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity: the Amistad schooner’s first-ever visit to New Hampshire! This historic replica of the famed 19th-century vessel will be open for guided tours, interactive learning sessions, and teacher seminars. It will offer a powerful exploration of history, justice, the transatlantic slave trade, its connection to New Hampshire, the shipbuilding industry, and more.

This event is more than a tour—it’s a chance to immerse ourselves in a powerful narrative of human rights, freedom, and historical change. By visiting the Amistad, we will not only learn about the past struggles for justice but also connect these lessons to contemporary issues of human dignity and equality.
