March 2017- The Tufts African American Freedom Trail Symposium broke open a new archive of African American regional heritage. It was housed at Tufts University in Medford Ma.

our team took note and began studying  the material. This treasure trove of new information gave us the ingredients to create Black Heritage tours that had never been available before.

The project was inspired by the late Tufts Professor Gerald R. Gill ( 1949-2007) on civil rights and the history of Black Boston and driven by faculty and student research.

The project maps African American public history sites, while developing collaborative community-based public history access across greater Boston.
